Free Hepatitis Testing

Hepatitis C (HCV) is spread when infected blood enters your body. It is now a curable disease but half of the people who carry the virus are not aware of it.
You might want to consider an easy test if you have ever:
• Had a needlestick or sharps injury
• Ever had vaccinations, dental or medical treatment (inc. cosmetic surgery)
in countries where HCV prevalence is higher
• Ever injected any drugs or steroids
• Received blood, blood products or an organ transplant before the end of 1996
• Ever shared any drug taking paraphernalia
• Ever lived with, or cared for, someone who injected drugs or had HCV
• Ever had anal sex or attended a chemsex party
• Had a tattoo or piercing that was ‘home made’ or by an unlicensed practitioner
• Ever lived in a children’s home, prison or residential school
• Shared a razor, hair/nail clippers or toothbrush
• Attended a botox party
• Had sex with a man or woman who sells sex
• Had any liver problems e.g. abnormal liver blood tests or alcoholic
liver disease
• Come from a country where HCV is more common
• Been born to a mother who has had HCV
