Think
Pharmacy First

If you need help with a common condition, visit your local pharmacy first — no appointment needed.

Pharmacists can give advice, suggest self-care, and provide treatment — and will refer you to a GP or other NHS service if needed.

Find your local participating pharmacy:
Visit the NHS pharmacy finder at https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/find-a-pharmacy or use the NHS App to locate a pharmacy offering the Pharmacy First service.

Under the NHS Pharmacy First service, your community pharmacist can assess and treat the following conditions and may supply NHS treatment where appropriate.

Conditions covered:

• Sinusitis (aged 12 +)
• Sore throat (aged 5 +)
• Earache (aged 1 – 17)
• Infected insect bites (aged 1 +)
• Impetigo (aged 1 +)
• Shingles (aged 18 +)
• Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (women aged 16 – 64)
